Perinton Ambulance Announces Child Passenger Safety Team

Perinton Ambulance’s Child Passenger Safety Team

November 1, 2019

Perinton Ambulance is pleased to introduce their Child Passenger Safety Technician team. EMTs Beth Sardone, Mary Grace Shine, and Katelyn Weitz became nationally certified Child Passenger Safety technicians during a 40-hour course over the summer. CPS technicians put their knowledge to work by conducting child safety seat checks, where parents and caregivers receive hands-on assistance with proper use of child restraint systems and safety belts.

The U.S. CPS certification program is widely considered to be the gold standard across the globe and is regularly offered outside the United States and its territories. Recent certification courses have been offered in Canada, China, Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Safe Kids provides course materials and supports instructors as they strive to keep kids safe in vehicles around the world.

To celebrate the launch of their new team, Perinton Ambulance is hosting a child passenger safety seat check on Saturday, November 16th from 10 am until 2 pm. Members of the New York State Police Child Passenger Safety unit will also be in attendance to help launch this new community service. No appointments are necessary for this event, which will be held rain or shine; inspections will be held indoors.
