A critical responsibility of Perinton Ambulance is to support the health and wellness of the greater Fairport-Perinton community.

Beyond being on call 24-7-365 to provide advanced and basic life support, or on hand at community events to take care of residents in need of medical assistance, Perinton Ambulance leverages the emergency medical expertise of its team, and its affiliation with national health and wellness organizations, to provide critical education and training.  In addition, Perinton Ambulance provides critical resources to the community including a Community Loan Closet with crutches, canes, walkers and other assist devices to those in need.

Here is an outline of the high quality first aid and medical support training available to individuals and organizations through Perinton Ambulance.


Heartsaver® CPR AED

The Heartsaver® CPR AED course trains participants to give CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. This course includes training on adult, child, and infant victims. 

This course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training. If you need training to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements, please contact your employer to ensure you are selecting the proper course. Note: For those seeking certification as a medical provider, please see BLS CPR Courses for more information.

CPR & First Aid Training

Heartsaver® First Aid

The Heartsaver® First Aid course trains participants in first aid basics for the most common emergencies, including how to recognize them, call for help, and perform lifesaving skills. Topics covered during this course include:

  • First aid basics
  • Medical emergencies
  • Injury emergencies
  • Environmental emergencies
  • Preventing illness and injury

This course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training. If you need training to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements, please contact your employer to ensure you are selecting the proper course.

Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card valid for two years.
